Join us for a relaxing and inspiring half-day oils painting class held in the tranquil setting of Coolings Garden Centre, Knockholt. This hands-on workshop is designed especially for beginners and provides a friendly, step-by-step introduction to the wonderful world of oil painting.
 
Under the guidance of Sara our Oils Tutor, you'll learn:
🎨 The fundamentals of oil paints – understanding brands, surfaces, and how to clean your tools
🖌️ Techniques for blending and layering to create mood and atmosphere
🌫️ How to paint a soft, misty landscape that captures light, depth, and texture
 
The session is thoughtfully structured, starting with the basics and building up your confidence through guided painting. You’ll create your own 30cm x 30cm canvas oil painting, complete with a bracket on the back – ready to hang once dry!
 
To keep things relaxed and enjoyable, we’ll have a mid-session break where you can grab a tea or coffee from Arthur’s Café, conveniently located on-site.
 
Please note: Oil paintings take time to dry. Your canvas will be wet when you take it home, so we provide protective plastic sheeting to safely transport your masterpiece.
 
Whether you’ve never picked up a brush or you’re looking to try oils for the first time, this class is a perfect, pressure-free way to explore a timeless medium in a beautiful setting.
