Immerse yourself in soft colour and expressive technique with Hydrangeas, a beautifully loose and atmospheric session in the A Vintage Summer in Bloom series. In this class, you’ll create a flowing composition of hydrangea blooms in delicate pinks, lilacs, and soft blues, set against a richly blended, painterly background.
 
Working on watercolour paper mounted on board, you’ll use a combination of watercolour and acrylic to build layers of colour, texture, and movement. This session focuses on allowing the paint to flow and blend naturally, creating soft, organic shapes while adding depth and contrast with gentle acrylic detailing.
 
You’ll explore techniques for creating loose floral forms, building colour gradually, and embracing a more intuitive, expressive style of painting. Guided step-by-step, yet with plenty of room for personal interpretation, this class is suitable for all abilities and especially enjoyable for those wanting to loosen up their approach. All materials are included.
