Mini 4-Week Abstract Art Course

Dates: Thursdays – 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th November 2025Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm (some sessions may finish around 1.5 hours, but please allow up to 2 hours)Location: The Art Cabin, Coolings Garden Centre, Rushmore Hill, Knockholt, Kent TN14 7NNSpaces: Limited to 6 participantsCost: £120

 

Discover the joy of creating your own abstract masterpiece in this 4-week mini course. Step by step, you’ll explore exciting materials and techniques to produce a fully finished A3 artwork, framed and ready to display in your own choice of colours. No prior experience is needed – just enthusiasm and curiosity!

 

What you’ll learn each week:

Week 1 (6th November): Introduction to alcohol inks and completion of your A3 abstract artwork.

Week 2 (13th November): Mounting your work to board, taping edges, and applying resin.

Week 3 (20th November): Cleaning up the resin, removing tape, marking out, and applying moulding paste.

Week 4 (27th November): Final details – cleaning, applying black paint, gold leaf, and finishing in a floater frame.

 

By the end of the course, you’ll have a unique abstract piece of art and hands-on experience with:

Alcohol inks

Resin finishing

Moulding paste

Gold leaf application

Professional framing techniques

 

Venue & Refreshments

The course takes place in the welcoming Art Cabin at Coolings Garden Centre. Refreshments are not provided, but you’re welcome to grab a drink from Arthur’s Café onsite and bring it along.

Safety Protocols

Your safety is very important to us. Please note:

Alcohol inks produce fumes – masks will be available for your comfort and protection.

Gloves are required when working with both alcohol inks and resin, and will be provided.

Resin will be handled with care and guidance to ensure safe use throughout the course. Resin we use is non toxic.
