Join me for a wonderfully relaxed and uplifting half-day Oils Experience where we’ll create a beautifully atmospheric seascape inspired by shifting light, dramatic skies, and shimmering reflections. This impressionistic piece is painted on a 35cm x 50cm stretched canvas, and we’ll be adding touches of silver leaf to bring an elegant glow and extra dimension to the finished artwork.
 
This workshop is designed with absolute beginners in mind—no experience is necessary! Together, we’ll explore the joy of oil painting through approachable techniques, soft brushwork, and colour blending. Impressionism gives you permission to loosen up, enjoy the process, and infuse your own personality into the piece. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or returning to creativity after a break, you’ll be guided step-by-step in a warm, friendly environment.
 
The class takes place in the charming Art Cabin at Coolings Garden Centre’s Craft Village, a lovely setting to relax, learn, and let your creativity flow. By the end of the session, you’ll head home with a completed painting you can be proud of—full of atmosphere, movement, and your own unique style.
 
All materials are provided—simply come along and enjoy a day of creativity and connection.  We will stop around midday for an hour, where you can pop in to Arthurs for a coffee and bite to eat, or alternatively you can bring some lunch with you.  We start at 10am and aim to finish before or around 4pm.
