Summer Lanterns

A Decorative Glass Painting Experience

Bring a little summer magic into your home by creating your very own hand-painted lantern, beautifully decorated with delicate floral designs that glow wonderfully when illuminated by candlelight, or a simple landscape composition or seascape easily painted on with a template on the back of the glass that's painted over.

In this relaxed and enjoyable workshop, you'll learn how to paint directly onto glass using acrylic paints, creating a unique lantern inspired by the colours and flowers of an English summer garden. Think cheerful cornflowers, delicate daisies, tiny wildflowers or dramatic mountains, peaceful meadow or come with your own ideas and lets see if we can bring them to life!

One of the wonderful things about this technique is that acrylic paints dry quickly, allowing you to complete your lantern during the workshop. If you wish, you can also heat-set your finished design at home in a conventional oven, helping to make the decoration more durable.

Whether displayed on a patio table during warm summer evenings, placed in a conservatory, or given as a thoughtful handmade gift, your finished lantern is something you'll enjoy for years to come.

No previous experience is needed, and I'll guide you through each stage of the process, from planning your design through to adding the finishing details. You'll be surprised at just how achievable—and enjoyable—glass painting can be.
