Escape to the coast for a wonderfully relaxing day of painting as we create a beautiful contemporary seascape inspired by wide open beaches, dramatic skies and the soft colours of the shoreline.
 
This workshop is all about atmosphere—capturing that peaceful feeling of standing by the sea, where gentle waves meet textured sand beneath expansive skies. Working in a palette of calming coastal blues, warm sandy creams, soft greys and subtle earthy tones, we'll produce a painting with a timeless, contemporary feel.
 
If you love those elegant, tranquil seascapes with a gentle Hamiltons-inspired colour palette, you're going to love this class.
 
Throughout the day, I'll guide you step-by-step, making this workshop suitable for both complete beginners and those with a little painting experience.
 
We'll also be exploring two exciting mediums that many of my students haven't used before:
🌊 Liquid White Oil – allowing your oil paints to blend beautifully and effortlessly, creating soft skies, distant horizons and subtle transitions of colour.
🏖️ Sand Texture Medium – adding wonderful texture to the foreground to recreate the look and feel of sunlit sand, giving your painting depth and a tactile finish.
 
You'll come away not only with a finished painting, but with new techniques that you can continue to use in your own artwork.
