Join me for a festive 6-week creative journey where we’ll capture the magic of Christmas in sketchbooks and on watercolour paper. Each week we’ll explore a new seasonal theme — from cosy comforts to enchanted winter nature — and experiment with playful watercolour techniques, linework, and textures.
 
By the end of the course, you’ll have a beautiful set of at least 6 original Christmas designs, perfect for turning into your own greeting cards or simply celebrating in your sketchbook. I’ll also guide you through how to prepare your work for professional printing, so you can share your creativity with friends and family.
 
What’s included
  • All materials provided — watercolours, brushes, pencils, fine liners, and watercolour paper
  • Personal sketchbook for creative process work and ideas
  • Plastic folder for safe storage of your artwork each week
  • Friendly, step-by-step guidance and demonstrations
 
What we’ll cover
Each week we’ll explore a different theme, building confidence and playful creativity along the way:
  • ☕ Week 1: Cosy Christmas Warm-Up — mugs, hats, fairy lights
  • 🍪 Week 2: Christmas Characters — gingerbread, baubles, cheeky sprouts
  • 🌲 Week 3: Winter Wonderland Nature — holly, mistletoe, fir trees
  • 🎁 Week 4: Iconic Christmas Icons — stockings, bells, snow globes
  • ✨ Week 5: Festive Patterns — wrapping paper, jumpers, candy canes
  • 💌 Week 6: Christmas Card Finale — create your finished card design
 
What to expect
  • A relaxed, welcoming class — perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to explore festive creativity
  • Hands-on demonstrations of watercolour techniques: washes, layering, speckling, and line detail
  • Time to play, experiment, and develop your own style
  • At least 6 completed designs you can use as cards, prints, or framed art
 
Practical bits
  • Sessions run 10.30am – 12.30pm at The Art Cabin, Coolings Garden Centre, Knockholt.
  • No refreshments provided — but feel free to bring your own, or pop into Arthur’s café onsite and bring a coffee along with you.
  • Plenty of free parking available at Coolings.
